A reading for the week of June 29
The 6 of Pentacles is a nice reminder during the craziness of this summer to take a moment to give back. This is a card about balance and learning and sharing. Giving back your knowledge so that knowledge will finds its way to you. Giving back your time and money so that more time and money can come back to you. This summer has been a wild one already--heat domes, the world cup, the Knicks winning the NBA playoffs, pride--take a moment to breathe and think about the things yo

A reading for the week of June 22
The Hanged Man is one of my favorite cards! It is a reminder to look at things from a different perspective. The figure on this card is not in any distress, he's calmly hanging off the branch in meditation. This card brings to mind Odin who hung upside down on Yggdrasil for 9 days and 9 nights to unlock the secrets of the universe. I'm not telling you to go hang off a tree for that long, but if you can turn yourself upside down what will you see? Most problems can be solved s

Reading for the week of June 15th!
The palo santo worked! The 3 of Pentacles is a much gentler card than the last few weeks have been. Maybe its the break in the heat wave, maybe its just a little grace as Mercury goes retrograde soon. This is a card of work, practice, effort towards a trade or craft in the material world. This work/practice in the material world has benefits beyond the physical. The effort you put into learning or refining a skill now has effect on you spiritually. You are being gifted with w

A reading for the week of June 8!
Yet again we have a tough card. The 3 of Swords is a card of heartbreak and betrayal. I hope you are not experiencing this personally but if you are remember that community is how we get through the pain. Reach out to a friend or family member and make a connection with them. This card often shows up with partnerships go awry, if this feels relevant to you spend some time outside connecting to nature to ground yourself. The airy nature of Swords tends to get us wrapped up in

Reading for the week of June 1
Another tough card! Or rather the first tough card back back back again. As I said before, the 5 of Wands is a card of chaos, competition, and confusion. Not always the most welcome card to see but it does help us to acknowledge the potential problems before they start to rule our life. This week think of how you can better communicate with those around you. Are you one of the figures dancing to your own music or are you able to draw everyone together and make the dance more

Reading for the week of May 25
8 of Swords is another intense card this week. A butterfly in a cocoon is surrounded by swords, protected by the cocoon but danger is just outside. In the Rider Waite Smith deck, this card shows a blindfolded figure almost completely surrounded by swords. It is the "almost" here that is important. Things can look dire but almost always there is a way through and often it is right where you aren't looking. The 8 of Swords reminds us that we are sometimes our own worst enemy.

Reading for the week of May 18th
Death is not a scary card! It is a reminder to let things go that no longer serve us. It is a reminder that all things come to an end and that we must greet those endings with humility and peace. This is a card of transition, the moment of change when leaves fall and return their nutrients to the soil to feed more life. Think about things you have been holding onto, what is no longer useful or needed. Let it go. In fact go press play on Frozen right now and sing it out, LET I

The 5 of Wands is a card of chaos, competition, and confusion. Not always the most welcome card to see but it does help us to acknowledge the potential problems before they start to rule our life. This card shows figures in a balletic battle, it doesn't appear like they are ferociously fighting instead they look like they are focused inwardly, on the battles they are each fighting individually. This rings true for me, often this card appears for me when I'm fighting something
