The Hanged Man is one of my favorite cards! It is a reminder to look at things from a different perspective. The figure on this card is not in any distress, he's calmly hanging off the branch in meditation.
This card brings to mind Odin who hung upside down on Yggdrasil for 9 days and 9 nights to unlock the secrets of the universe. I'm not telling you to go hang off a tree for that long, but if you can turn yourself upside down what will you see?
Most problems can be solved simply by looking at them in a different context. What might seem like the worst thing can be a blessing if you just flip it upside down.
The scene in Pirates of the Caribbean when they have to flip the ship upside down comes to mind here. Jack is able to see things differently than others and so knows that up needs to become down in order for them to escape the Locker.
Go outside, look at the trees see that their branches look like roots, flip it upside down. Now go back to your problem and see what has changed.
Happy handstands! See you next week!
